Hi Teresa: Found a link to your blog while Googling “2010 Mac race results”.
I read there was a collision at the start, some boats dropped out and one got hit by lightning.
Would you be so kind, if you have time to elaborate on any of these events.
I sail on the J/105 “Certare”, but am out this year after having to get my hip replaced.
When I attempt to track Certare, the tracking just stops in the middle of the lake, making me concerned they may have been one of the boats that had to drop out.
If chatting is easier, please feel free to call me at 630-726-5713.
If you have any details at all, I will sincerely be appreciative of any updates you may have and be willing to share.
No worries if life’s other demands don’t allow you to respond.
“Everything starts with conversation”.
Thanks Teresa,

Mike, I looked up my past posts from Chicago Yacht Race regarding the collision, and the withdrawn boats, however the notice does not seem to be there now. I, too, see that Certure stops right in the middle of the lake. I don’t understand that. If I find the notice, I’ll let you know.
Are you FB friends with “Chicago Yacht Club” – might be able to find out there from the numerous posts. I posted your question on FB–I do know the lightening one was an ‘Oceanis’ – not sure of the spelling on it though.
Just got a partial answer about 2 of the boats that had mechanical failure: Yankee and Ocean Adventure – not sure of the 3rd name yet.
Okay, it appears “Certare” is not listed as retired, so we must assume they are still in the race as of this time anyway.
someone gave me this link that continues to update so you can check retired boats: http://www.cycracetomackinac.com/results-scroll.cfm
Hope this helps!
