Monday Morning on the Island
From Torresen:
0430 Race Time, Monday, July 26th.
The water at the Straits of Mackinaw is glass. There is an occasional dark spot indicating a touch of breeze, but they are few and far between. This is evidenced by the Turbo Runaway being perched near the finish line and currently moving at under one knot. As many experienced Mac racers say, there is a parking lot that can appear between the bridge and the finish line. It is there right now.
Beau Geste & Windquest finished over the night at 21:43 & 22:19 respectively. Beau Geste received line honors, now it is just a waiting game. Runaway is in limbo, nearly caught up to the big boats, but with the rest of the Turbo pack closing in on her heels. Equation and Natalie J have passed under the bridge with Vincitore not far behind.
